Christmas Craft Beer Shopping Guide

1. Glassware

It would be wrong to not start out my Christmas Craft Beer Shopping Guide with anything other than glassware.

While it isn’t mandatory, most craft beer fans get to the point where they want better glassware. They improve the drinking experience and often look really nice too.

Spiegelau makes some great glasses for every style from IPA to Stout to Pilsner to Barrel-Aged beers.

My pick would be the Spiegelau Craft Beer Tasting Kit. It includes 3 pieces of glassware; IPA, Stout and Wheat Beer.

Having these three options provides a great glass for most drinking situations.

And the price point of around $20 makes it an easy choice too!

2. Craft Beer Jelly

Did you catch my review of this Craft Beer Jelly Gift Pack?

House Of Webster is known for a wide range of great tasting food and they apply their expertise to making beer jelly.

This gift set includes six different jellies that are made with craft beer. They truly taste like the styles used in them and make me want toast every day with breakfast.

I think my favorite is the Hogs Breath which uses a raspberry saison in it.

3. Beer Cap Maps

While canned craft beer is becoming the standard, there are still plenty of bottled beers. And with the bottled beer comes a cap.

Collecting the caps and filing in a map of your state or the USA is a great way to decorate and show off how many different beers you’ve had.

Beer Cap Maps provides maps of each state, the entire country or the world. Their latest series has select cities featured on their respective states.

I have the Ohio map hanging in my home and get a lot of questions about it. It’s a great conversation starter and lets you display the caps of the breweries you love the most.

4. Bottle Opener

You can never have too many bottle openers. So even if the craft beer fans on your Christmas list already have nice bottle openers, they’ll still appreciate a new one.

Also, if you want to keep those bottle caps flat so they look good in the Beer Cap Map mentioned above, you’ll want to be careful which one you buy.

Luckily, Beer Cap Maps offers a bottle opener called Flat Capley which removes the bottle caps without bending or damaging them.

This is ideal for all craft beer lovers that want to save their caps.

5. Craft Beer BBQ Sauce

Beer and food have always been a perfect match. And it’s even better if the ingredients are made with beer.

This is another gift option that is under $20 and gives the craft beer fan a variety of flavors to take cooking to the next level.

These three barbecue sauces are made with the use of some of Stone Brewing’s most popular beers: Imperial Russian Stout, Ruination, and Arrogant Bastard.

6. Craft Beer Shirts

It’s not enough that we think about craft beer all day; we need to make sure that those around us know we are craft beer fans.

Wearing one of these will ensure there is no doubt that craft beer is more than just a drink to you.

Most are funny or at least clever.

For me, I really enjoy those with simple style or that reference my local area. Since craft beer is tied to local pride, it only makes sense to get one that celebrates your city.

7. Homebrewing Kits

A Christmas Craft Beer Shopping Guide wouldn’t be complete without a mention of homebrewing kits.

Being a craft beer fan will probably make you want to attempt to make your own at some point. Luckily, there are lots of kits to help you get started.

While most people brew 5 gallon batches, I think a 1 or 2 gallon kit is a better fit for the first time homebrewer. At least that’s where I would start.

You could purchase the items needed individually but the starter kits are priced well and ensure you get everything you need.

8. Craft Beer Clubs

Chances are, you purchase your beer at breweries, grocery stores and liquor stores. But have you thought about ordering it online?

Tavour is a great resource to get great craft beer delivered directly to you. They source beer from all over the country and you only buy the beer you want.

The best part about this program is there is no commitment. Just order what you like and skip on the beers that don’t sound good.

And by clicking the link below, you can save $10 on your first order! So sign yourself up and order some beer from outside your area to impress the craft beer fan in your life this Christmas.

You can also buy gift cards for them if you want to let them order their own beer. Either way, this is a great way to get craft beer from all over the country.

9. Novelty Glassware

Not to be confused with proper glassware, these are just for fun. I mean, who wouldn’t want to drink out of a giant boot?

I couldn’t make a Christmas Craft Beer Shopping Guide without including the infamous Das Boot. It’s just one of the many options I’ve found that help bring a little fun to drinking.

I also loved the Viking Drinking Horn. Not sure it’s practical but I’d gladly drink from it just so I could say that I’ve done it.

The point is beer is fun so we shouldn’t always be so serious about it. That’s why a novelty glass can be the perfect Christmas gift. Just imagine sitting around on Christmas Day drinking your favorite beer from a bizarre glass – I’m sure that would make for an instant memory.

10. Hopwater

Hops aren’t just for beer anymore; now you can have them in water too.

Hopwater is a soda that uses hops to add flavor. At 48 IBU, you’ll definitely notice the hops.

There are all natural, contain no alcohol and are caffeine & gluten free.

And while they are great on their own, they also work great as mixers.

I’ve had these on a few occasions and enjoyed them. I’m a grapefruit fan so that is the flavor I recommend.

11. Coasters

You’ve got to have a place to put your beer when you aren’t drinking it.

There are more coasters out there than I can possible count but I like ones that do more than just protect your furniture which is why I picked these.

The bottle opener coasters look great, double as bottle openers and can even display a bottle cap. So you can customize them in a small way.

This company offers 3 different sets to choose from so you can pick the one that fits the craft beer lover that you are shopping for.

12. Craft Beer Books

If you’re here then you must know someone that loves craft beer. And from what I’ve seen, those that love craft beer also love learning more about it.

While you could just read more of my articles (which I recommend), there are also lots of great books available.

Some keep it light and fun with recipes or interesting facts.

Other are focused on the history of beer and the technical details of styles and brewing.

The Beer Bible is a well known book that I recommend checking out.

13. Men’s Belt With Bottle Opener

Not all belts are created equally. Yes, they all do the job but this one goes above and beyond.

This belt features various tools to ensure that you are prepared for any situation; including opening your beer.

This leather belt features a bottle opener, Phillips & flathead screwdrivers, and 8/10/11mm Wrenches.

It’s high quality and comes in various sizes and colors.

I have the brown leather one and am impressed with it’s durability. and I’ve even used it a few times to open my beer.

14. Craft Beer Soap

Soap comes in a million different scents – so why not beer?

I found a lot of options but I liked how this one comes in a set of 6 so there’s something for everyone.

Here are the 6 included in the gift set:

15. Craft Beer Beard Oil

Seem cliche but it’s true . . . there are a lot of beards in the craft beer world. And to ensure that a beard looks great; it needs to be cared for. That’s where this beer beard oil comes in.

So, if someone on your Christmas list loves craft beer and has a beard then chances are this is a great idea.

Is there a better way to start the day than with the great smell of hops?

This will make a perfect stocking stuffer or secret Santa gift.

16. Beer Candles

You smell your beer before you drink it so now you can have that aroma throughout your house.

Pick from two different sets of 3 craft beer inspired candles:

The Breakfast Stout sounds most interesting to me as I would expect a good amount of roasted coffee from it.

Made with recycled 22oz beer bottles, these candles provide over 40 hours of burn time.

17. Growler Koozie

The increase in craft beer has resulted in a whole new generation getting familiar with growlers.

Growlers are a great way to take home your favorite beers to drink later. Or grab a growler of beer on the way to a Christmas party.

To help keep the beer cold and fresh, this Growler Koozie is made from durable insulating neoprene.

It also features a handle to make carrying it easier. This koozie holds a standard 64 ounce growler. Pick from black or camouflage.

Make this gift even better by including a growler filled with craft beer!

18. Playing Cards

This might be the best Stocking Stuffer idea on my list.

This set of playing cards feature a different craft brewery on each card. That’s 53 different brands.

And since they are made by Bicycle, you know you are getting a high quality product that you’ll actually want to use when playing poker or other card games.

At $6, it is almost a no-brainer to pick these up for the craft beer lover in your life.

19. Craft Beer Socks

I’m not sure when it started but there’s been a huge interest in bright colored, themed socks.

And of course, craft beer themed socks are now a thing. There’s lots to choose from but most either feature glasses of beer or the entire sock looks like poured beer.

Since socks are small, these are another great Stocking Stuffer option.

While most people wouldn’t get excited about receiving socks as a gift, I think these are the exception.

20. uKeg Pressurized Growler

WARNING: The price tag on this isn’t for the faint at heart.

But while the price point is high, this can be the ultimate gift for a craft beer fan. Getting a growler of your favorite beer is a lot of fun. But the reality is it will not stay fresh for long.

The uKeg changes that as it will keep the beer fresh for up to 2 weeks.

This is ideal for taking to parties, grill outs, tailgates, camping and anywhere else you want to have fresh, cold beer.

So there you have it; the Christmas Craft Beer Shopping Guide. Now you won’t have to give a terrible gift this year.

And the great thing is that most of these items would made great gifts for just about any holiday or occasion. So bookmark this page and come back anytime you need a craft beer themed gift idea.

If you saw something on this list that you want, make sure to share this article with those in your life and hopefully they can take a hint!
